Rookie Mistake – Sneakers

A hungry player makes the kind of mistake nobody lives down, and that single beat carries the whole film. One location, one team, one afternoon that goes wrong in front of everybody. We shot on a working pitch outside Dubai across two days, cast from local sports clubs rather than an agency book, and let practical floodlights do the work at dusk. The cut runs faster than the dialogue wants, landing the punchline early and letting the crowd carry the last four seconds. Delivered in 60, 30, 15 and 6 second versions plus vertical, all conformed from one master so the timing of the gag holds.

Two days on a working pitch outside Dubai, shot long-lens from the touchline so the crew stayed off the grass and the cast forgot the camera. The team was drawn from local sports clubs. Floodlights were the ones already on the poles. The pitch stayed in use between setups, so we worked around a training session that never stopped.
